, 北卡羅來(lái)納州立大學(xué),north carolina state university,raleigh 于公元1887年建校,占地2,115英畝,校地為政府所撥贈(zèng),位在北卡州首府羅利（raleigh）,學(xué)生約3萬(wàn)人,亞裔美籍學(xué)生占5%,國(guó)際學(xué)生占1%。 北卡羅來(lái)納州立大學(xué),north carolina state university,raleigh 教授有19位被選為美國(guó)科學(xué)院（national academy of sciences）或工程院（national academy of engineering）院士。北卡州立大學(xué)圖書(shū)館由d. h. hill圖書(shū)館及4個(gè)分館組成。共藏書(shū)310萬(wàn)冊(cè),在全美國(guó)同類圖書(shū)館中排名第32名。 ncsu 的愿景是：『為了能符合本州島及社會(huì)上教育、經(jīng)濟(jì)發(fā)展及生活質(zhì)量的需要,我們極力發(fā)揮政府撥贈(zèng)校地學(xué)校的三大功能：教學(xué)、研究及延伸教育。』世界聞名的科技「三角研究園區(qū)」（research triangle park）,即是由北卡州位于羅利的北卡州立大學(xué)、位于德翰（durham）的杜克大學(xué)（duke university）醫(yī)學(xué)院以及位于教堂山（chapel hill）的北卡大學(xué)（university of north carolina）醫(yī)學(xué)院3所著名的大學(xué)聯(lián)結(jié)而成的三角地帶,占地 7,000英畝,從草創(chuàng)至今已有40年的歷史,目前生物科技亦是發(fā)展重點(diǎn)。 不過(guò),由于「三角研究園區(qū)」已不敷科技公司使用,北卡州政府于1988 年左右撥1,000英畝土地予該校,規(guī)劃開(kāi)發(fā)百年紀(jì)念校園（centennial campus）。其特色為混合學(xué)校教學(xué)研究與公司企業(yè)之研發(fā)園區(qū),集合研究室、創(chuàng)業(yè)大樓及育成中心。此園區(qū)使高等教育學(xué)子因具備體驗(yàn)應(yīng)用科學(xué)研發(fā)環(huán)境,而增加畢業(yè)后就業(yè)機(jī)會(huì)。 ncsu以獨(dú)特的紅磚建筑及鐘樓（bell tower）著名,鐘樓是北卡州立大學(xué)的象征。設(shè)計(jì)于1920年,為紀(jì)念第一次世界大戰(zhàn)中陣亡的校友而成立。由于20年代底的經(jīng)濟(jì)大蕭條造成集資困難,所以直到1937年鐘樓主體才建成。又由于第二次世界大戰(zhàn)的影響,所以整個(gè)工程到1949年才全部完工,高達(dá)35米,建筑設(shè)計(jì)采用了歐洲羅馬時(shí)代及哥德式（gothic）的風(fēng)格。 羅利、德翰及教堂山自公元1959年設(shè)立三角研究園區(qū)（research triangle park）,區(qū)內(nèi)有生物技術(shù)中心（隸屬州政府）、育成中心、研發(fā)中心及服務(wù)中心。不僅吸引了許多大型企業(yè)來(lái)此設(shè)立研發(fā)單位,在附近設(shè)廠生產(chǎn),同時(shí)也吸引了大量高科技人才到園區(qū)及大學(xué)服務(wù),就業(yè)人數(shù)超過(guò) 4萬(wàn)2千人,成為全美博士人口密度最高的地區(qū)。 , ,
